As shown in the figure, how much current can a 10-ohm resistor theoretically provide?

If the voltage-stabilizing diode is 1/2W, 12V,
and the voltage meter measures 10V on the left side of the 10Ω resistor, (10V voltage is obtained after the voltage-stabilizing diode is broken down), is the maximum current that the resistor can obtain 1A?

"Is the maximum current that the resistor can obtain 1A?" Just remember that the minimum current in the voltage regulator is a certain value (which can be found in the manual), and you can calculate the maximum current that the load can obtain. In this example, even if the current in the voltage regulator is zero, the maximum current that the load can obtain is 24V/1010 ohms.  Details Published on 2021-11-18 16:05

What does it have to do with 10 ohms? It has to do with your 1K and the power of your voltage regulator tube.

As long as you remember that the minimum current in the Zener diode is a certain value (which can be found in the manual), you can calculate the maximum current that can be obtained by the load. In this example, even if the current in the Zener diode is zero, the maximum current that can be obtained by the load is 24V/1010 ohms, about 23.7mA.

The current of the Zener diode is related to the current of the load. If the voltage of the Zener diode is 10V, the current of the Zener diode is 0 and the current of the load is 24mA.

If the 12V Zener diode works, less than 12 mA of current will flow through the 10 ohm resistor.
