[Ultra-low power STM32U5 IoT Discovery Kit] - 0: BLE [Copy link]

This post was last edited by MianQi on 2021-10-6 12:46

I encountered BLE once when testing TI's "LAUNCHXL-CC1352P-4" before. At that time, I didn't think there was any difference. It was not until I answered a question from a netizen last week that I realized that for embedded engineering projects, the difference between BLE and classic Bluetooth is still obvious.

In the last example, a user's BLE could read the pressure sensor data transmitted via BLE (using dialog-semiconductor's DA14580) on Android, but it did not match on Windows 10. The query result is that Windows 7 and Windows 8 both support BLE, but Windows 10 cancels the support for BLE.

The first thing that came to mind this time was to test the BLE provided by "B-U585I-IOT02A" - STM32WB Series:

After some hardware switch operations, it was determined that it should be the device starting with 57:

However, nothing happens after pairing:

Also, sometimes it is lost:

The introduction says that the board comes with a demo, but there is no Android App, which is different from TI's board. TI's board is also "BLE + sensor", but after pairing, you can run the APP to read the sensor data.

The Bluetooth on my board doesn't work. Have you flashed the program after receiving the board?  Details Published on 2021-10-6 14:13

My Bluetooth has not been working properly. What switches do I need to operate on the hardware?

Are you referring to the Bluetooth on the board? That doesn't require a switch, the Bluetooth on Android can detect it once it's turned on. It just won't pair.  Details Published on 2021-10-6 13:57
