Analysis of Motion Filter Effect Circuit

This motion filter effect circuit will control the initial frequency and control how responsive the envelope follower is to the input signal.

The envelope follower/filter combination also converts the typical dynamic characteristics of your axe into modulated timbral variations, you can think of it as an auto-wah pedal.

Independent initial frequency and sensitivity knobs give you control over the various effects you have to pay attention to, and enable the dynamic filter to be used with electric bass or guitar. You won't believe how much funk and soul can be squeezed into a small box.

IC1–4136 Quad Operational Amplifier

IC2–4066 Quad Switch

D1, D2 – 1N4148 or 1N914

Circuit Notes:

Connect the pads marked "A" together. The offset can be a trim pot that can be adjusted after a "burn-in" time of about a quarter hour. Fine tune it until you hear no popping when you press cancel switch S1. No play is needed of course when adjusting. The correct setting should be close to the center of the rotation.
