What is the resistance value of a 0Ω resistor? How much current can a 0Ω resistor pass? [Copy link]

How much current can a 0Ω resistor carry? This question must have been asked by every hardware engineer. And there is another related question, which is how big the resistance of a 0Ω resistor is?

These two questions are simple, and the answers should be clear, but netizens gave different answers. Some said 0Ω resistance is 50mΩ, while others said it is only 20mΩ; some said it can only pass 1A current, while others said it can pass 1.5A...

The actual resistance of a general 0 ohm resistor is around 50 milliohms with a deviation of 5%.
So based on the rated power, you can calculate its rated current.
Take 0402 1/16W as an example: 1/16=I*I*0.05, that is, I=1.118A
Take 0603 1/8W as an example: 1/8=I*I*0.05, that is, I=1.58A
Take 0805 1/4W as an example: 1/4=I*I*0.05, that is, I=2.236A
