[Raspberry Pi 4B Review] Install Libreelec system on Raspberry Pi 4 and install plug-ins to watch IPTV live broadcast
Libreelec is simply a Linux that meets the minimum requirements for Kodi . Libreelec is a media center system that integrates a simplified version of Linux with Kodi . The system is very streamlined, and the entire system is Kodi . You can directly enter Kodi when you boot up , which is fast and has low CPU usage, making it very suitable for hosts with poor performance. Maybe the original system has a lag when Kodi is installed, but it will be smoother after being flashed to Libreelec . It supports CPU chips such as AMD , Intel , nVidia , AMLOGIC , ROCKCHIP , Raspberry Pi, etc. It can be installed on old laptops and boxes of various brands.
1. LibreELEC system disk production
Go to the libreELEC official website ( https://libreelec.tv/downloads_new/ ) to download a Windows version of the system USB disk maker LibreELEC USB-SD Creator , select " Download for Windows " to download LibreELEC.USB-SD.Creator.Win32.exe .
Download address:
http://releases.libreelec.tv/LibreELEC.USB-SD.Creator.Win32.exe
(1). Open the software and select the corresponding version according to your host.
(2) The latest version of the image will be automatically listed (if you select 'Show All', the older version of the image will be displayed), and click Download.
(3). Select the drive letter where the TF card is located.
(4) Write the image . Click Write. The system will be ready in one or two minutes.
2. System Installation
Insert the burned TF card into the Raspberry Pi, then turn it on and you can enter the LibreELEC interface.
3. System Settings
As soon as I entered the system, I saw the configuration interface. The first option was the menu language selection. There was no Chinese language, so I had to press " NEXT " all the way.
Set the file name to display Chinese:
Then click the "Settings" icon in the upper left corner and click the lower left corner to select " Expert " expert mode.
Go to " Interface " - " Skin " - " Fonts " - select " Arial based " .
Then in " Interface " - " Character set " - select " Chinese simplified ( GBK )"
After setting, the Chinese file names in the folder can be displayed normally. If not set, it will display □□.
Time zone setting:
In " Regional " - " Timezone contry " select " China "
In " Regional " - " Timezone " select " Asia/Shanghai "
As long as the Raspberry Pi is connected to the Internet, the time can be displayed correctly after setting the time zone.
Set up Chinese menu:
Go to " add-ons " and you will find a software update in the upper left corner. Update it, and then after a while,
In " Regional " - " Language " - select " Chinese ( simple )" and wait for downloading, then there will be a Chinese menu.
4. Play local video
Now you can watch movies in the mobile hard disk or USB flash drive. After actual testing, 1080P movies are supported and played smoothly, but 4K movies are not supported. They cannot be played smoothly. I won't post pictures here.
5. Install the network IPTV player plug-in "PVR IPTV Simple Client"
Find PVR IPTV Simple Client in "Plugins" - " PVT Client"
Then select the version to download
After downloading, you need to find the live broadcast source. You can go to the following website to find the m3u8 format live broadcast source you need .
Kodi IPTV live source m3u8 download
http://www.kodiplayer.cn/movie/2898.html
Then set up this plug-in in "Plug-in" - "Download" - " PVR Client".
You can copy the downloaded live source file to a USB drive, and then load the live source in the plug-in. After loading, the live source will be automatically copied over, and the USB drive can be ejected safely. After loading the live source, the system needs to be restarted.
After the system restarts, you can see the live broadcast list in "TV" - "Channels". Then you can watch your favorite TV stations.
The live broadcast source I downloaded includes CCTV , major satellite TV stations, and thousands of local stations, a total of more than 1,700 TV stations.
In addition, you can also watch this live source directly by dragging it to PotPlayer on your computer . If you don't have a Raspberry Pi or don't want to install the Libreelec system, you can also watch it directly on your computer using this live source. (Download the attachment)
