MSP-FET430UIF driver cannot be installed in Windows 7[Copy link]
The emulator that has been used normally on Windows 7 operating system cannot recognize the driver on Windows 7 after the emulator is upgraded to V3 firmware. After repeated attempts, there is always a yellow exclamation mark on the port in the device manager. First search various methods on the Internet, such as checking whether mdmcpq.inf in windows-inf and windows-system32-drivers-usbser.sys are complete. Both are confirmed to be no problem. Finally, after repeated attempts, it is found that the reason is: V2 version is VCP driver, V3 version is CDC driver, and the driver upload fails because the driver does not match the firmware. The FET-Pro430 Lite installed on my computer was V2.8, and its corresponding driver file is the VCP program. When the firmware version of the MSP430 emulator is upgraded to V3, the FET-Pro430 Lite V2.8 driver cannot be recognized, so you only need to upgrade the FET-Pro430 Lite to a version above V3.0, and during the software installation, check the driver installation update (the installation package comes with the V3 version of the CDC driver), and finally the problem can be solved.
