How to generate PCB files using templates? [Copy link]

Using templates, users can quickly generate a PCB file containing predetermined information, including board size, board layer settings, grid settings, and title bar settings. Users can save commonly used PCB file formats as template files, so that they can directly call these template files when designing new PCBs, thereby speeding up the PCB design process. Call the system's own template. 1. Open the Files panel, and then click the PCB Templates option in the New from template column to enter the many PCB templates that come with the software. 2. Select the template file you want and click Open to generate a PCB. 1. Setting of circuit diagram drawing file-new-pcb Generate a new PCB file. Its default drawing is invisible. Click the Design-Board Options menu item to open the dialog box shown below, and then select the Display Sheet check box to display the drawing information in the current working window.
Users can set other information of the drawing in the sheet position column.
a. X text box: Set the position of the drawing origin on the X axis.
b. Y text box: Set the position of the drawing origin on the Y axis.
c. Width text box: Set the width of the drawing.
d. Height text box: Set the height of the drawing.
e.Lock sheet primitives checkbox: This checkbox is often used to import PCB drawing template files. Select this checkbox, and the drawing information on a "Mechanical Layer" in the imported template file will be locked to the PCB drawing. Further settings for drawing information 2. Open a PCB template, use the mouse to draw a frame to frame the drawing information you want, and then select the Edit-Copy menu item. The mouse will then become a cross shape, click to copy. 3. Switch to the PCB file to which you want to add the drawing, set the appropriate drawing size, and then click the Edit – Paste menu to paste. At this time, the mouse becomes a cross cursor and select the appropriate location to place it. 4. Then the user needs to set the connection relationship between the title bar and the drawing. Click the Design-Board Layer&Colors menu item, and the following dialog box will pop up. On the Mechanical16 layer in the upper right corner, select the show Enable and Linked To Sheet check boxes, and click OK .
5. The effect after completion. Users can modify the various information in the title bar in the figure. Double-click any object to open its property editing dialog box. Of course, users can also copy all the drawing information in the PCB template file, including the title bar, border and size of the drawing. Users can also save commonly used drawing information in the template file to facilitate future PCB design, thereby speeding up the design process. https://www.pcbbar.com/data/attachment/forum/201811/27/172326zpqnnq69lnlq6plf.png
