Design of synthetic frequency source using PLL technology [Copy link]

Abstract: This paper introduces the frequency division phase-locked frequency synthesis technology. Through the analysis of the basic principles of the phase-locked loop working process and phase noise,
a 1.8 GHz phase-locked frequency source is successfully designed using PLL technology. In this phase-locked source, the frequency division phase detector uses ADI's ADF4118,
the VCO uses M/A-COM's ML081100-01850, and the low-pass loop uses a third-order RC low-pass filter. Its phase noise
is -75 dBc/kHz and the spurious suppression is -85 dBc. The experimental test has obtained good technical indicators, which can meet the requirements of the local oscillator source of the modern mobile communication C network
and G network radio frequency subsystem.
