Escorna CPU 2.12: An open source hardware project geared towards robotics and programming for kids.

Overview
The basic Escornabot can be programmed to perform a series of actions using the robot's buttons. From this point of view, imagination is the only limit on possibility. - Hey! What you describe looks very much like a bee robot! - Yes, but much better for several reasons. Of these, I’ll highlight a few: It’s made by you. And your students, your children, your cousins... everyone can help by being involved in the process from the beginning. The fun of building your own escornabot can turn the experience into something great, especially when kids get involved. It's Open Hardware (OSHW) and Free Software (FOSS), so you can adapt its features to your needs: place sensors, LEDs, change the rotation aperture angle, distance moved with each step... whatever you think of. It is cheaper (by price) than other commercial educational robots. If you know where to buy the components (on the internet), building an escornabot can cost less than 20 euros. The price is not its value because of the work time and other overhead costs (especially the 3D printing of the parts).
