The shaver was originally powered by nickel-cadmium batteries, two of which were connected in series. After years of use, the difference in internal resistance and capacity between the two batteries gradually increased, making it difficult to continue using it.
The voltage of two strings of nickel-cadmium batteries can exceed 3V when fully charged. There will be no big problem in replacing them with lithium iron phosphate batteries.
