The EVAL6208N is built around L6208 in PowerDip package. It implements a typical stepper motor driver application. Screw connectors provide connection to motor supply rail and 5 V reference for the logic inputs, as well as the four outputs to motor windings. EVAL6208N can be hooked-up to practiSPIN interface board (EVALpractiSPIN) through a 34-pin connector. It is also possible to run board in stand-alone mode: four switches are used to set the direction of the rotation, the stepping sequence and the current decay style, while four potentiometers set the L6208 reference voltage and off-time for the PWM current control; external reference voltages can be provided by a PWM output of a µC.
