Security monitoring multi-channel long-distance transmission problem [Copy link]

Dear experts:

I am now going to maintain the original campus surveillance. The original cameras and NVRs are all original and I need to change the lines. There are 3 16-channel NVRs with the farthest distance up to 800m. Can the lines be connected with a network cable + a 5-port 100M switch, with one line (based on the current situation, it can be divided into 2 lines) to the computer room, and finally gathered into the switch in the computer room, and then distributed to the 3 NVRs.

Thank you all great gods

I don't understand your question. A 100M Ethernet cable can only transmit about 100m, which is related to the quality of the cable and the performance of the switch.

Is this setting okay?

Theoretically, there is no problem. It seems that you have too many cameras. In a 100M network, 200W pixels are generally connected to 20. It is recommended to calculate the bit rate bandwidth.

If you need to use one network cable, 100M is definitely not enough. There are too many cameras, so it is recommended to use 1G. If you lay 3 cables, 100M can also run it, but the picture will be stuck.
