What does PAD mean in a circuit schematic? [Copy link]

There is no PAD pin in the chip manual. What is the purpose of adding this PAD and why should it be added? ? ? ?

Read the device manual carefully, there must be an explanation. The PAD here generally refers to a large metal area at the bottom of the chip packaged in QFN or other packages, which is used for heat dissipation, electromagnetic shielding, etc. and generally needs to be grounded.
