Design of Digital Frequency Source for Ground Wave Synthetic Pulse Aperture Radar [Copy link]

Abstract: Aiming at the performance requirements of ground wave integrated pulse aperture radar, this paper proposes to design a multi-carrier digital frequency source using multiple DDS chips AD9854 to
generate multiple linear frequency modulation interrupted continuous wave (LFMICW) signals with different carrier frequencies at the same time, and the frequency and initial phase of each transmission signal are controllable; an effective method of using DDS to generate LFMICW signals is studied; the control logic of multiple DDS chips is designed using FPGA and a serial communication protocol with a computer is realized. The test results show that the phase noise of the digital frequency source is -92.6dBc/Hz at a deviation of 1Hz from the carrier, which meets the requirements of the frequency source stability for long-term coherent accumulation of high-frequency ground wave radar.
