San Diego, August 10, 2022 - Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. announced that the first-generation Snapdragon® 8+ flagship mobile platform will power Samsung Electronics' new leading foldable smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Flip4. Qualcomm Technologies' new flagship mobile platform, Snapdragon 8+, achieves breakthroughs in energy efficiency and performance, bringing an all-round improved ultimate terminal experience. The new Galaxy Z series also uses the latest Qualcomm FastConnect™ 6900 mobile connection system, which can provide high-speed, stable top-level Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections.

The first generation Snapdragon 8+ brings the ultimate experience improvement to the entire Galaxy Z series, allowing users to enjoy the mobile experience all day long. The first generation Snapdragon 8+ can also provide ultra-smooth control response, colorful HDR scenes and optimal visual quality. With further enhancements, the Qualcomm Adreno™ GPU on the Snapdragon 8+ has achieved a 10% frequency increase, the Qualcomm Kryo™ CPU has achieved a 10% processing speed increase, and the GPU and CPU energy efficiency has increased by up to 30%, enabling the ultimate gaming experience. Snapdragon 8+ also uses the seventh generation Qualcomm AI Engine, which brings unparalleled AI capabilities and up to 20% energy efficiency improvement1. The Galaxy Z series takes full advantage of the dedicated Trust Management Engine of Snapdragon 8+ to improve the security of applications and services.
Galaxy Z Flip4 and Z Fold4 support advanced Snapdragon Connect technologies, including 5G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, for a fast and reliable connected experience. The Snapdragon X65 modem and RF system provides excellent connection speed and energy efficiency, and achieves the fastest 5G connection speed with 5G millimeter wave. Both terminals use the latest FastConnect 6900, which can bring top-level Wi-Fi 6/6E and advanced Bluetooth capabilities.
