On June 10, according to Taiwan’s Economic Daily News, Micron’s chairman, Lu Donghui, said that the A3 plant will introduce EUV equipment in the second half of the year and set up a "R&D corridor". In the future, it will continue to increase investment in Taiwan and vigorously cultivate local talents. In the next two to three years, it is expected to add more than 2,000 employees.

Lu Donghui pointed out that Micron has more than 40,000 employees worldwide and has been the largest overseas investor in Taiwan in the past few years. Taiwan is also Micron's main DRAM production base. It currently has more than 10,000 employees in Taiwan and will hire more than 2,000 people in the next 2-3 years.

Lu Donghui said that the 1α process has been mass-produced in Taiwan, and the next-generation 1β will introduce the most advanced CMOS technology and is expected to continue to lead the industry. It is expected to be mass-produced in Japan by the end of this year and will then be transferred to Taiwan for production.

As for the "R&D Corridor", Taichung A3 plant will introduce EUV equipment in the second half of the year to increase production capacity. It is expected to start mass production of the 1 beta process next year and the 1 gamma process in 2024.

Lu Donghui emphasized that he will be committed to localizing the supply chain, including machines, materials, etc., not only Taiwanese manufacturers, but also foreign companies with production bases in Taiwan, so as to speed up the production and supply cycle.
