On February 28, Aojie Technology released an interim announcement of its 2021 performance results. The company achieved operating income of 2.138 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 97.75%; the net profit attributable to the parent company's owners was -57,331.32 million yuan, and the loss narrowed by 175,321.66 million yuan, a narrowing rate of 75.36%; the net profit attributable to the parent company's owners after deducting non-recurring gains and losses was -55,204.07 million yuan, and the loss after deducting non-recurring gains and losses narrowed by 2,033.23 million yuan, a narrowing rate of 3.55%.
Aojie Technology stated that in 2021, benefiting from the rapid development of the market and the competitive advantages of its products, the company's industry status continued to improve, and sales revenue of chip products grew rapidly, with annual operating income of 2.138 billion yuan, a significant increase of 97.75% over 2020.
The company continues to adhere to R&D innovation, and continues to accumulate technology, iterate products and layout businesses to maintain its core competitiveness. The R&D expenses in 2021 (excluding share-based payment expenses) were 1.006 billion yuan, all of which were invested in various projects according to the progress of R&D. The company's full-year R&D expenses accounted for 47.11% of its operating income, a year-on-year decrease of 22 percentage points driven by the scale effect of high growth in operating income.
In 2020, the company implemented equity incentives and set aside large share-based payment expenses of 1.767 billion yuan. In 2021, the share-based payment expenses decreased by 1.745 billion yuan compared with 2020, so the net loss attributable to the parent company's owners was significantly narrowed.
It is reported that Aojie Technology was established in 2015 and is a platform chip company that provides wireless communication and ultra-large-scale chips. Since its establishment, the company has been focusing on the research and development and technological innovation of wireless communication chips. It is one of the few platform chip design companies in China that has the research and development and design capabilities of all-standard cellular baseband chips and multi-protocol non-cellular Internet of Things chips, and has the ability to provide ultra-large-scale high-speed SoC chip customization and semiconductor IP licensing services.
