Recently, according to Windows Central, Microsoft originally planned to push the Android 11 update for the first generation of Surface Duo by the end of 2021. Now this important update will have to be delayed until January 2022.

　　It is reported that the Microsoft engineering team has adapted the Android 11 system for Surface Duo. According to Google's requirements, the system must be verified by Google before being pushed to user devices.

　　However, because of the Christmas holiday, Google employees were on vacation, and Microsoft engineers sent the final version of Surface Duo Android 11 to Google and there was no follow-up. This is why Surface Duo has not received the Android 11 update.

　　It is worth noting that Microsoft has promised to provide three years of system updates for Surface Duo. The official version of Android 12 has been released, but Microsoft Surface Duo has not yet been upgraded to Android 11. This seems to mean that it will be later for Surface Duo to be upgraded to Android 12 in the future.
