According to foreign media techpowerup, Samsung Electronics announced today that it will showcase 13 innovative technologies from its C-Lab project at CES 2022. This project consists of two parts, namely the internal venture capital program C-Lab Inside and the startup acceleration program C-Lab Outside, which currently includes nine startups.
C-Lab Inside began in December 2012, and Samsung has been nurturing innovation among its employees and delivering a corporate culture that prioritizes creativity ever since then. The program supports ideas and innovations across all business areas, and since 2015 Samsung has been supporting C-Lab projects with great market potential and encouraging them to spin off into startups.
Samsung has been showcasing C-Lab Inside projects at Eureka Park since 2016. During the show, customers will learn about these Samsung projects and some will apply them.
The four C-Lab Inside projects that will be on display include:
Piloto: Helps children develop correct smartphone usage habits.
PROBA: An AI-based online examination system for administrators, candidates, and supervisors.
innovision: A mobile device for early detection of strabismus in infants, which can be applied in kindergartens.
ZamStar: A smart electric guitar that makes learning guitar easier by displaying LEDs on the candy bar.
C-Lab Outside
The program was created in October 2018 to support new companies and aims to revitalize Korea's startup ecosystem. Companies participating in the program have the opportunity to obtain office space, mentorship from Samsung employees and experts, participate in global IT industry exhibitions, and obtain financing.
C-Lab Outside plans to exhibit the following projects at CES 2022:
Petnow: An AI-based biometric identification solution for pets.
Digisonic: A 3D immersive audio solution for mobile devices.
Verses: An interactive metaverse music application.
Bitsensing: A range of imaging radar technology solutions for autonomous driving and smart cities.
SELECTSTAR: An AI-based data collection and labeling platform.
RGT Inc.: Multifunctional modular service robot.
MoreDream Inc.: An input system to improve accessibility and productivity for the visually impaired.
Yellowknife: A custom platform for vehicle display.
