On November 30, the Ministry of Science and Technology website showed that a research team from the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at Sungkyunkwan University in South Korea successfully developed a highly durable flexible synaptic semiconductor component. The research results were published in the international academic journal Science Observer.
In recent years, the demand for the application of Internet of Things technology in the field of portable smart devices has increased rapidly, especially the application of flexible electronics in robotics engineering and smart health care has attracted much attention.
It is reported that the research team deposited amorphous oxide semiconductor thin films tens of nanometers thick on a flexible substrate of polyamide material as channels, forming amorphous oxide semiconductor and ion-gel hybrid structures, and developed flexible synaptic semiconductor components that can be controlled by electrical pulse signals. After mechanical and electrical stress tests, the components showed stable static and dynamic action characteristics. The research team used this component to make elastic resistance sensors installed on the hand, and verified through experiments that it can be applied to the neuron system.
