Volta, an OEM specializing in high-speed power accessories for smart devices, has announced that one of its latest products, the BOLT Power Bank, will soon be available. It is said to offer up to 6 different charging modes, with a total power of up to 240 watts (W). It may be launched together with a smaller version for iPhone 12 or 13 series users.
Volta is known for its high-performance mobile device accessories on crowdfunding sites, such as the Spark or Giga GaN charger. Now, it has hinted at some new products to be released soon, including a high-capacity mobile power bank BOLT, which may support multiple mobile phones and wearable devices that need to be charged at the same time. BOLT is expected to have a typical capacity of 25,000mAh, housed in a brick-like form factor and include an OLED readout screen. It has 4 wired outputs, including 3 USB Type-C ports and 1 Type-A port. Among them, 2 Type-C interfaces are rated at up to 100W and can be used simultaneously, while the remaining one is limited to 20W for devices such as iPhones.
The Type-A port is also rated at 22.5 W. The Volta BOLT also demonstrated wireless charging, and in fact, it has two such pads: one rated at 15 W (again, for the iPhone) and a smaller 2.5 W specifically for devices like the Apple Watch.
All together, the BOLT is capable of delivering up to 240W of power, all at once (a claim that may require some testing). In addition to this, VOLTA has now hinted that it may release products to join the MagSafe power bank space. Its 1000mAh high-capacity version may appear on the market first, and the manufacturer has not yet mentioned the wattage it will support through its "MagRing", although it claims that it will also work with the Abdriud system (although it may not stick to the back panel very well in this case).
