Galaxy S21 performance is disappointing, Samsung's flagship phone sales have declined significantly

      As one of the leaders of the Android mobile device camp, Samsung Electronics has not been making much progress in the smartphone market. As a recent report by Korean media highlighted, the electronics giant's flagship product line is losing appeal year by year. At the same time, Chinese mobile phone brands are catching up in the global market.

　　Naver.com cited Counterpoint data saying that even dating back to the Galaxy S5 era, the Galaxy S21 series has failed to replicate the success of any of its predecessors.

　　The Businesspost.co.kr report added that the Galaxy S21 series sold 13.6 million units in the first six months of this year, a 20% drop from the Galaxy S20 series in the same period last year. Compared with the Galaxy S20 series of the previous year, the gap between the Galaxy S21 and the Galaxy S20 series is as high as 47%.

　　While the decline in Galaxy S21 sales can be partially blamed on the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Apple saw record growth in iPhone sales during the same period.

　　The South Korean analyst added that Xiaomi has surpassed Samsung in the Indian market and has taken the top spot. If this trend continues, Samsung's dominance in the global smartphone market may soon be reversed.

　　The company currently has a 19% market share worldwide, followed by Xiaomi with 17%. However, in order to regain momentum, Samsung may focus more on its foldable screen smartphone product line.

　　As for the market performance of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 released on August 11, we will have to wait and see.
