According to a new report, LG recently suspended its plans to sell Apple products such as the iPhone at its retail stores in South Korea.

Back in June, the South Korean company was reportedly in talks with Apple regarding a retail partnership. However, after some backlash, LG now appears to have ended those talks for now.

According to the Small Business Daily, LG ended the negotiations after sparking controversy between small and medium-sized retailers and consumers. Apparently, there was "growing concern" that LG's Best Shop would suspend employee training on Apple sales.

The South Korean government, for its part, has also stressed competition, signaling concerns that large retail partnerships could threaten the livelihood of smaller stores in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

In addition, Samsung is also said to be concerned about a potential collaboration between LG and Apple, which could threaten Samsung's leadership in its domestic market.
