According to Jiwei.com, on the evening of April 19, Han's Laser released its first quarter report for 2021. During the reporting period, the company's operating income was 3.1345 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 107.54%. Net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company was 330 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 207.91%. Net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company after deducting non-recurring gains and losses was 303 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 381.64%. Basic earnings per share was 0.31 yuan.
Regarding the main reason for the substantial increase in net profit, Han's Laser once stated that due to the impact of the new crown pneumonia epidemic in the same period last year, the company and its upstream and downstream businesses were under-operated. This year, the company's various businesses have returned to normal, and product orders have increased significantly compared with the same period last year. Benefiting from the continued improvement in the industry's prosperity, the orders and shipments of special equipment business in the PCB industry have increased significantly compared with the same period last year.
In recent years, the global demand for smart terminal products has risen sharply, driving the rapid growth of PCB sub-products such as packaging substrates, high-layer boards, and HDI boards. Benefiting from the increase in PCB demand and the continued expansion of the domestic PCB industry's share, Han's Laser's PCB business achieved operating income of 2.184 billion yuan in 2020, a year-on-year increase of 70.83%.
Han's Laser said that as the penetration rate of terminal products such as 5G smartphones and tablets continues to increase, the demand for PCBs with finer lines, smaller apertures, and higher assembly density, such as arbitrary layer HDI, SLP-type substrates, fine FPCs, and rigid-flex boards (Rigid-flex), will continue to increase. The company will increase investment in funds and high-end technical talents to create more competitive equipment solutions based on the high-precision processing needs of leading PCB companies at home and abroad.

It is worth mentioning that Han's Laser's PCB business is expected to be spun off and listed.
Han's Laser pointed out that for well-developed, independently operated businesses, it is encouraged to spin off and list. In 2020, after deliberation and approval by the company's board of directors, board of supervisors and shareholders' meeting, it is planned to spin off the company's PCB business, Han's CNC, to be listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange's Growth Enterprise Market. As of March 26, 2021, Han's CNC has submitted guidance filing application materials to the Shenzhen Securities Regulatory Bureau and has been accepted.
