Q: From Xiaomi 10 to Xiaomi 11 Ultra, Xiaomi’s main camera sensor has been replaced three generations. What is the unified route it adheres to?
A: Xiaomi Imaging has developed rapidly this year. From HMX, OV48C to the current GN2, both "high pixel" and "large pixel" are branches of our main line of "large base". From 1/1.33 inches to the current 1/1.12 inches, we are constantly challenging the limits of the industry.
Q: What is the difference between the Night Owl algorithm and the traditional super night?
A: From a technical perspective, the Night Owl algorithm is the first to truly adopt end-to-end neural network processing. Traditional ultra-night images generally use multi-frame noise reduction and compensation, while the Night Owl adopts a RAW-in and RAW-out mode, and the image registration, color restoration, and noise reduction processing are completely completed by the neural network.
Currently, the Night Owl algorithm only exists in the normal photo mode, and we will introduce it to the "Night Scene" mode in the future. Because the Night Owl algorithm will only work in extremely low-brightness environments, that is, there must be no obvious light source in the environment. This scenario may be very extreme, but it is our technical attempt to finally implement the future night vision imager.
Q: In the telephoto lens of Xiaomi 11 Ultra, compared with other ten-fold optical zoom solutions, what are the advantages of the large-bottom telephoto lens?
A: The telephoto lens of Xiaomi 11 Ultra uses the IMX586 sensor, which has a 1/2 large bottom. Although it has a 5x optical zoom in full-pixel mode, because of the large bottom as the basis, it can achieve a lossless 10x zoom effect through cropping, and still obtain good telephoto image quality. In addition, the 48MP can also greatly improve the performance of telephoto night scenes through 4in1.
Q: Does the secondary screen add more ways to take photos?
A: The back screen of Xiaomi 11 Ultra will have multiple iterations of functional upgrades. It currently supports photo preview, and in the future it will also introduce video Vlog preview, portrait, night scene, ultra-clear mode preview, etc.
Q: How do you evaluate the DXOMARK evaluation system?
A: First of all, DXOMARK is definitely not our imaging target. It is just a reference system on our road to continuous imaging optimization. Our final examiner is still the user, and the user will also become the driving force for us to realize the vision of the world's best imaging.
Q: What is Xiaomi’s image color style setting?
A: Xiaomi imaging has always been about pursuing true color reproduction. Of course, if we blindly pursue authenticity, it may not satisfy users in some specific scenes, such as when taking pictures of food, people want to see a more appetizing effect. Therefore, we will reflect the color style of specific scenes in the AI camera or filters.
