Sun Semiconductor recently filed a criminal civil lawsuit in the Hsinchu District Court of Taiwan, alleging that the company's trade secrets were violated by former employees of iST and World Advanced, Li Mingche and Liu Guoru, who reproduced and used them without authorization. The company now requests joint compensation of more than NT$194.5 million from the two and World Advanced.
Taiwan media Economic Daily reported that Sun Semiconductor claimed that its losses amounted to NT$5.636098 billion.
In response, World Advanced stated that based on existing information, the information claimed by Sun Semiconductor is not confidential, and whether it constitutes a trade secret is obviously debatable. In addition, this is the personal behavior of former employees Mr. Li Mingche and Mr. Liu Guoru. Sun Semiconductor's claim against World Advanced has no legal basis.
In addition, World Advanced has commissioned a law firm to assist the company in handling the lawsuit and will actively respond.
