Microsoft Appoints Dr. Hou Yang as Chairman and CEO of Greater China

On March 1, Microsoft announced that Dr. Hou Yang will succeed Alain Crozier as Chairman and CEO of Microsoft Greater China, leading Microsoft's strategy, sales and marketing operations in Greater China.

As the successor of Krejciech, Dr. Hou Yang has worked in Qualcomm in the United States and China for more than eight years. Before joining Microsoft, as the global senior vice president of Qualcomm, he led Qualcomm China Semiconductor Division to achieve rapid development and achieved a three-fold revenue growth. Prior to this, he worked at McKinsey & Company in the United States for five years, leading the work of the Technology Division.

It is understood that since 2016, Correia has served as Chairman and CEO of Microsoft Greater China, bringing sustained business growth to Microsoft Greater China, vigorously supporting the development of high-growth cloud computing startups, and building a strong partner ecosystem. Under his leadership, Microsoft continued to increase its investment in Greater China and doubled the capacity of Microsoft Intelligent Cloud Services in China twice.

Until July 1 this year, Correia will continue to be responsible for the strategic execution and business performance of Microsoft Greater China. His future appointment plans will be announced later.

Dr. Hou Yang officially took up his new position on March 1 and will work side by side with Correia before July 1 to ensure a smooth handover. After that, Dr. Hou Yang will take over the overall leadership of Microsoft Greater China.
