Recently, Xi'an Zhixiang Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Zhixiang Optoelectronics") received tens of millions of yuan in A+ round investment, and investors included Shenzhen Kaiyuan Securities Investment Co., Ltd.
Previously, the company had also received investments from Guozhong Venture Capital, Shenzhen Capital Group, Softbank China, and China Science and Technology Innovation Capital.
According to investment sources, this round of funds will focus on the research and development of a new generation of chips for Zhixiang Optoelectronics' high-precision 3D cameras and the construction of production lines. The project will further enhance the company's technical strength in the field of high-precision 3D camera technology and expand its product manufacturing and sales capabilities.
According to Zhixiang Optoelectronics' official website, the company was founded in 2014 and relies on institutions such as Xi'an Jiaotong University, the Institute of Optics and Computer Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to develop core hardware technology for structured light 3D imaging. The company has developed its own high-precision 3D depth camera technology and has independently developed micro-structured light projection technology, imaging algorithm chips, modules and complete machines, which can be miniaturized and integrated into mobile phones, computers, robots and other products.
Relying on its own technology, Zhixiang Optoelectronics has accumulated a massive 3D face model library, 3D artificial intelligence algorithms, 3D face recognition and other products and solutions, and integrated them into cutting-edge fields such as consumer electronics, high-level security, and payment.
It is reported that the company's cooperative clients include Alibaba, Huawei and others.
It is worth mentioning that in October 2019, Premier Li Keqiang visited the Gazelle Valley Entrepreneurship Community in Xi'an High-tech Zone. When he heard that Zhixiang Optoelectronics' products were bottom-level innovations and that it had independently developed optical chips and imaging algorithm chips, solving the problem of localization, the Premier was very happy and emphasized that independent chip research and development is very important and that mass production should be accelerated.
