The Switch has been launched in China for more than a year. According to a recent report by Reuters, the sales of Nintendo Switch in China, which is represented by Tencent, have exceeded 1 million units since December 10, 2019.
According to relevant data from Niko Partners, the shipment volume of Switch sold in China exceeded that of PS4 and Xbox One sold in China during the same period. Nintendo has surpassed Sony and Microsoft to become the largest console seller in China.
Early domestic sales of the Switch were affected by a limited number of games and the COVID-19 pandemic, but began to rise steadily with the emergence of Ring Fit Adventure. Niko Partners predicts that China's console game market revenue will reach $2.15 billion in 2024.
According to a Tencent spokesperson, the Switch's current sales performance is a "good start" and "games released on Nintendo Switch have been well received by the market." So far, Tencent has launched 13 games for Switch.
For the Switch sold in China, sales exceeding 1 million units is a milestone event.
