Recently, there have been rumors in the market that the price of LED invisible light products will increase next year. In response to this, Shi Yugeng, a spokesperson for LED manufacturer Everlight, said at today’s (28) earnings conference that the company is looking into the situation and if it is confirmed that other peers are raising prices, Everlight will follow suit.


Shi Yugeng said that LED price increases are indeed very rare in recent years, but there have been recent reports that starting from February next year, peers in the invisible light product segment will see price increases.


The reason for the LED price increase is that the overall market demand is strong, but the supply has not increased. Shi Yugeng further pointed out that the increase in downstream demand this year has caused the price drop of upstream LED chips to be smaller than in previous years. Since the second half of this year, the supply of chips for invisible light products has become tight.


From Everlight's perspective, the fastest time from receiving an order to shipping invisible light LED products is 3 to 4 months. Shi Yugeng said that invisible light products are currently Everlight's main products, accounting for about 31% to 32%. As the price trend is relatively optimistic next year, Everlight's overall gross profit margin is expected to maintain this year's level.
