When buying mobile phones, many consumers have found that more and more mobile phones have eliminated the 3.5mm headphone jack. Why is this? Let's take a look at the answer from China Telecom!

China Telecom claims that removing the 3.5mm headphone jack can make the phone thinner and lighter. In fact, in addition to the visible interface, the entire structure of the headphone jack also includes the wires for power supply and data transmission as well as the packaging shell. The finished module is at least 5mm thick, which will not only increase the thickness of the phone, but also occupy a lot of space inside the phone.

Removing the headphone jack can also make the phone more sealed and achieve better waterproof effect.

In addition, China Telecom also talked about why you can't use your mobile phone with gloves on. China Telecom said that this is related to the working principle of the touch screen.

Mainstream touch screens have a key structure - upper and lower conductive films. A lot of charges are initially stored between these two films. The human body is a conductor, and when a finger touches a point on the screen, the charge will flow into the human body, generating a weak current that flows through the location where the charge flows, and the operating point can be located. Of course, this weak current has no effect on the human body.

Ordinary gloves are not conductive, so the charge cannot be transferred from the screen to the human body, and the screen cannot be operated.
