According to foreign media 9to5Mac, some iPhone 12 users have encountered high power consumption when using their phones, even when WiFi and 5G signals are turned off, or even when power saving mode is turned on. The iPhone 12 released by Apple this year has a reduced battery capacity, which is much smaller than the current mainstream Android phones. Therefore, it relies heavily on the efficient power management of the iOS system and the performance/power consumption ratio of the A14 Bionic chip.
A power consumption picture uploaded by a foreign engineer user shows that even if the phone is in standby mode and there is no background activity, the phone will consume power evenly, which is much faster than the previous iPhone 11 Pro. According to foreign media reports, more than 1,000 users in foreign forums have reported the same problem, and many people's power has dropped by 20% to 40% overnight.
One user said that his iPhone has turned off all background programs and Bluetooth, but still has this problem. He has contacted Apple's official support staff, and after running a series of diagnostic programs, Apple said that the hardware is normal. Foreign media 9to5mac also encountered the same problem. After excluding all software and hardware problems, foreign media said that it could only be an iOS system problem.
In addition, one user reported that as long as his iPhone 12 Pro phone has a SIM card installed, his phone's battery will drop sharply, and it will stop consuming power when it is unplugged. Foreign media Forbes judged that perhaps the baseband chip is faulty, but more samples are needed to confirm.
IT Home learned that as of now, Apple's official forum shows that 1,260 iPhone 12 users have the same problem. At present, Apple has not responded to this failure. I hope this problem can be solved through subsequent iOS updates.
