Recently, Ming-Chi Kuo of Tianfeng International released a new report, which pointed out that optical under-screen fingerprint is expected to become a mainstream solution again starting from 2021. Ultra-thin under-screen fingerprint has a high cost (ASP is 100-200% higher than optical) and lacks innovative user experience, so its market share has gradually declined in 2020, and it is estimated that it will almost completely withdraw from the market starting from 2021.

IT之家获悉,新钜科自 2021 年开始再度成为全球光学屏下指纹镜头独家供应商。大立光与联创电子因公司策略改变,故自 1H20 开始逐步退出光学屏下指纹市场,预计新钜科自 2021 年开始为独家供应商。受益于市佔率恢复,新钜科的光学屏下指纹镜头出货量,将在 2021 年成长 100–120% YoY 至 2–2.4 亿颗。
It is expected that starting from 1Q21, Xinjuke will start shipping high-end 6P lenses for 48MP cameras. The ASP is about 100% higher than that of optical under-screen fingerprint lenses. Initial customers include vivo and OPPO.
Xinjuke cooperates with QTech to promote low-cost periscope cameras in 2021. The ASP of periscope lenses is 150-200% higher than that of optical under-screen fingerprint lenses. Lenovo is currently the main customer, and potential customers include OPPO, vivo and Xiaomi.
It is predicted that Xinjuke will set up a new plant in 2021 and start shipping from 2Q21. Starting from 2Q21, the total monthly production capacity is expected to increase by 80% to 45 million lenses. The new production capacity will mainly provide high-priced mobile phone lenses, including 6P lenses and periscope lenses. The shipping time is expected to be 2Q21.
