China Unicom’s official Weibo account announced yesterday that Chongqing Unicom has teamed up with Huawei to build the world’s first county-level 3.5GHz+2.1GHz dual-band 5G network collaborative demonstration zone in Wanzhou District.
With the help of the wide coverage characteristics of the 2.1GHz frequency band, Chongqing Unicom quickly achieved continuous 5G coverage in county scenarios, and coordinated with the 3.5GHz frequency band for on-demand deployment in hotspot areas, fully verifying the good effect of the dual-frequency network synergy of 2.1GHz deep coverage and 3.5GHz key coverage. Combined with the 200M large bandwidth shared with China Telecom and the 5G network competitiveness created by Massive MIMO technology, it will help promote the gradual extension of high-quality 5G networks to county towns and rural wide-area coverage.
In addition to creating a 3.5GHz+2.1GHz dual-band 5G network collaborative demonstration zone in county scenarios, China Unicom is also participating in the creation of a national-level 5G airspace technology joint laboratory.
It is understood that China Unicom Research Institute, Henan Unicom, the National Airspace Key Technology Laboratory of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the People's Government of Anyang City have recently signed an agreement to establish a 5G Airspace Technology Joint Laboratory. Based on China Unicom's "5G Ubiquitous Low-altitude Test Base", the partners will study and output low-altitude airspace management technical standards, solutions and technical achievements, provide experience and data for the national low-altitude airspace collaborative management reform, and promote the development of Anyang into a "drone + 5G", "drone + Beidou" test base and a national low-altitude economic demonstration city, promoting the social and economic transformation and development of Anyang.
