According to Chongqing Daily, vivo plans to invest 460 million yuan to build a research and development and production project with an area of 100,000 square meters in Jiangnan New City. It is expected to be officially put into operation at the end of 2021. Chongqing will also become the brand's first city in the southwest to establish a research and development center.
After the project is completed, vivo will cooperate with dozens of well-known companies such as Qualcomm, Samsung, and Tsinghua Unigroup, gather more than 3,000 high-end R&D personnel from home and abroad, and carry out software and hardware R&D and testing of smart mobile terminal products in Chongqing Economic and Technological Development Zone to achieve integrated development of R&D, production and sales.
Previously, vivo had already implemented an artificial intelligence manufacturing project in Chongqing Economic and Technological Development Zone, and the above-mentioned R&D and production project was built as the second phase of the project.
