On Friday, The Tech Portal reported that Xiaomi will launch a new MIUI system in India, but the new system will not be pre-installed with applications that have been banned by the Indian government, including Xiaomi Browser Pro.
Manu Kumar Jain, Xiaomi's head of India, tweeted that "Xiaomi will fully comply with the Indian government's requirements and stated that there will be no blocked apps on Xiaomi phones; and that Indian users' data will remain 100% in India."
According to IT Home, the Indian government has banned Xiaomi smartphones from using Xiaomi browsers. Indian officials said: "Using Xiaomi browsers may affect the operation of these devices and also affect network access."
India began to ban Chinese applications in June this year, including 59 applications such as TikTok, UC Browser, WeChat, etc. According to previous news from Indian media, the Indian government recently listed 47 applications in the local relevant market and forced them to be removed from the shelves, but the Indian authorities did not publish a detailed list of these applications.
