Early morning on June 28, according to foreign media macrumors, Apple’s upcoming iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max will use displays capable of reaching a 120Hz refresh rate, allowing for a smoother screen experience.

  A tweet from digital blogger Bing Yuzhou revealed, "According to reliable sources, if nothing unexpected happens, the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max are basically certain to use high refresh screens with a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz."

  The digital blogger did not reveal much about Apple, but rather more about Samsung products. Samsung has provided Apple with OLED panels for the iPhone X, iPhone XS, and the latest iPhone 11 series.

  Evidence of the iPhone's high refresh rate screen has already appeared on the iOS 14 system that Apple just announced at WWDC. Recently, Apple pushed the iOS 14 system to developers, and some users who upgraded to the new system reported that options related to the screen refresh rate appeared in the iPhone 11 Pro Max. In Settings-Accessibility-Dynamic Effects Options, the screen refresh rate can be locked at 60Hz. This move may be Apple's preparation for the high refresh rate screen of the iPhone 12 series. The current maximum refresh rate of the iPhone is 60Hz.

  Prior to this, Apple had first adopted ProMotion variable refresh rate technology on iPad Pro, and bringing it to the new OLED iPhone will further improve the performance standards of smartphones. This technology can dynamically adjust the refresh rate according to the content displayed on the screen to achieve smooth sliding, higher responsiveness, and also save battery life.

  Variable refresh rate technology can also reduce the latency of Apple Pencil. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo once revealed that future iPhones may support Apple Pencil.

  Apple is expected to release four iPhones this fall, including a 5.4-inch, two 6.1-inch, and a 6.7-inch model. Rumor has it that the 6.7-inch iPhone and a 6.1-inch model will be high-end devices with three cameras, while a 5.4-inch model and another 6.1-inch model will be low-end iPhones with dual cameras and more affordable prices.
