iPhone XR has poor signal: Apple faces lawsuit

The only old phones currently on sale on Apple’s official website are iPhone 8 and iPhone XR. If the second-generation iPhone SE is released, I believe they will also be taken off the shelves one after another.

Data shows that the iPhone XR is an extremely successful product, with single-product shipments reaching 46.3 million units in 2019, ranking first in the world.

The success of iPhone XR has a lot to do with its uncompromising performance, Face ID experience, long battery life, and relatively low price, but Apple obviously also has a surprising ability to control product costs.

According to foreign media reports, because 4G and Wi-Fi only support 2x2 MIMO, Apple was sued by consumers a few days ago, claiming that the XR has degraded and defective signal performance, resulting in increasingly worse user experience, such as network connection failure, abnormal voice and text message sending and receiving, etc.

Upon investigation, it was found that iPhone XS, 11 Pro, etc. all use 4x4 MIMO, with faster connection speeds and greater throughput.

The lawsuit collected user cases from ten states in the United States, including Alabama, California, and Florida. It claimed that Apple did not explain the difference between 2x2 antennas and 4x4 antennas, and that there was consumer fraud and unfair competition, and demanded $5 million in compensation.
