As we all know, 5G and AI technologies make the interconnection of all things possible. At the 2nd Global IC Entrepreneurs Conference held in Shanghai recently, Unisoc CEO Chu Qing pointed out that in the future wave of technology, 5G and AI complement each other and are indispensable, and are the key to the era of intelligent interconnection. "5G without AI is an empty ship, and AI without 5G is a stranded ship," he said.

What changes will AI bring to the data generated by 5G? In this regard, Zhong Baoxing, senior marketing director of Unisoc, said that 5G will bring exponential growth to edge data, while big data without AI is just big data, which will only bring more data transmission security issues, cloud processing timeliness issues, and data center storage difficulties. After 5G is combined with AI, data processing will be more edge-based, and AI training will be more situational and specific, which will make the processing of edge data more timely and efficient, and make edge data generate value.

Zhong Baoxing believes that 5G+AI will enable the revolutionary upgrade of the entire industry and help change society! Based on this, Unisoc, as a world-leading chip design company, has invested a lot of effort in the fields of 5G and AI and carried out relatively comprehensive deployment.

First of all, in the field of 5G, Unisoc has always played the role of a "pioneer" and led the development of the global 5G industry. In December 2014, when 4G smartphones were still popular, Unisoc launched 5G research and development and established a 5G team; in February this year, Unisoc officially released its first 5G baseband chip, Ivy 510; in April, Unisoc completed 5G NSA and SA call tests in accordance with the 3GPP R15 new air interface standard; as of August, Unisoc has completed 67% of NSA use cases and 42% of SA use cases around multiple dimensions of frequency band (2.6G/3.5G), mode (NSA/SA), and scene (indoor/outdoor).

In addition, in the field of AI, Unisoc has also entered the market strongly and is constantly releasing big moves. Last week, Unisoc officially released the world's No. 1 AI chip, the Tiger T710, in Beijing, and also announced the establishment of a joint artificial intelligence laboratory with Xi'an Jiaotong University in Xi'an. It is worth mentioning that the Tiger T710 is an edge computing platform with heterogeneous dual-cores. On the global AI chip test list released by Al Benchmark of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology on July 31, it also won the championship with an excellent score of 28097.

Zhong Baoxing said that the two chips, Huben T710 and Ivy 510, are the perfect combination of AI and 5G.
