Apple has always had the habit of "customizing" new materials to produce new iPhone screens. However, according to a recent report from South Korea, Apple may use the same OLED panel material as Samsung Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 on the new iPhone 11.

According to sources, the material Samsung used to produce the iPhone X and iPhone XS displays was codenamed "LT2". The OLED panel material used in the Galaxy S10 and Note 10 is codenamed 'M9'. The report said that the iPhone 11 Pro model is expected to use M9 material to make OLED displays. This means that the screen quality of this year's Samsung flagship phone may be "transplanted" to the new iPhone 11 intact, and the new version of the OLED display will still be produced by Samsung.

It is not clear why Apple officially stopped using different screen materials from Samsung's mass-produced flagship models this year. Perhaps it is because Samsung's existing screen materials have met Apple's high quality standards, and logistics and price factors will also affect Apple's screen material selection. It is worth noting that Apple was recently fined approximately $600 million for failing to meet the expected number of OLED screen orders previously placed with Samsung. Combined with the current overall slowdown in the global mobile phone market, it is very likely that Apple's OLED screen orders this time will be reduced.

It is reported that Apple will release the new iPhone 11 series on September 10, which is expected to include two new iPhones with OLED screens, namely the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. Apple has chosen the same screen material as its competitors and is believed to have further "adjusted" it to surpass its competitors, so the display quality of the new iPhone 11 is still worth looking forward to.
