On July 12, Huawei held a sustainable development press conference at its headquarters in Bantian, Shenzhen.
At the meeting, Huawei Chairman Liang Hua said that we have opposed it since the United States included Huawei on the Entity List because there is no basis for such a decision.
He said, "We believe that the United States should not relax regulations, but should cancel the ban on the Entity List. American suppliers are asking the US government to relax regulations for their own interests. In fact, we also thank American suppliers for their cooperation and support for Huawei over the past two or three decades. Huawei's entire business is currently operating normally. We will release the half-year performance data at the end of this month. I can't tell you the specific data, but what I can say is that Huawei's business revenue has grown in the first half of the year."
At the same time, Liang Hua also said that HiSilicon chips can guarantee the supply of Huawei's main products.
When talking about the self-developed system Hongmeng, Liang Hua said that the Hongmeng system was developed for the Internet of Things, and mobile phones will still choose Android as the first choice. The Hongmeng system will be combined with the 5G ecosystem to provide more competitive support.
In addition, regarding Huawei's "backdoor" remarks, Liang Hua also reiterated: We operate in every country and comply with local laws and regulations. We have never received any request for Huawei to collect intelligence. China also has no laws and regulations requiring companies to engage in intelligence collection. We have expressed to governments of various countries that we are willing to sign a no-backdoor agreement.
Faced with the ever-changing external environment, Huawei's development has encountered some challenges. He said, "We will definitely survive, and we will live better and better."
In addition, in the 2018 Sustainability Report, Liang Hua also pointed out that the energy consumption of Huawei's 5G single site is 20% lower than the industry average. He added that Huawei is reducing energy consumption and contributing to green environmental protection through continuous ICT technology innovation.
