CanSemi: The first batch of samples were shipped, and the yield rate reached the expected target

On June 29, Ge Changwei, Director of the Development and Reform Commission of Guangdong Province, and his delegation visited the 12-inch plant of Guangzhou Yuxin Semiconductor Technology Co., Ltd.

Chen Wei, President and CEO of CanSemi, said that as of now, the first phase of CanSemi's production line debugging has been completed, the first batch of samples have been shipped, and the yield has reached the expected target.

According to official news from CanSemi, Ge Changwei, director of the Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission, said that the CanSemi semiconductor project is a key project highly supported by the Guangdong Provincial and Guangzhou Municipal Governments. It is currently the only 12-inch chip factory in Guangdong Province that is about to enter mass production. Guangdong Province, Guangzhou City, and Huangpu District should continue to provide greater support.

In May this year, Guangdong Satellite TV reported that CanSemi will start production in June and mass production in September. According to current information, CanSemi is proceeding as planned.

The CanSemi project is the first 12-inch chip plant in China that uses virtual IDM as its operating strategy. The project started piling in March 2018 and completed the main plant capping in October 2018 as originally planned. After reaching full production, the project can achieve a monthly production capacity of 40,000 12-inch wafers. CanSemi's products include microprocessors, power management chips, analog chips, power discrete devices, etc., which can meet the analog chip needs of innovative applications such as the Internet of Things, automotive electronics, artificial intelligence, and 5G.
