With the development of smartphones, mobile phone manufacturers are constantly pursuing high performance while exploring the appearance of mobile phones. In particular, the competition for the screen-to-body ratio of smartphones has reached a white-hot stage. From the beginning, manufacturers expanded the screen size, and then explored the notch screen, water drop screen, hole screen and front lifting lens, all to solve a problem - the layout of the camera.
For the current solutions on the market, the method that can maximize the screen-to-body ratio is to use a front-mounted lifting lens, but this solution is not perfect. There may be uncertain factors such as lifting structure failure, dust accumulation on the lifting camera, etc. So will there be new solutions in the future? Recently, a foreign whistleblower @BenGeskin said that OPPO may launch a mobile phone with an under-screen camera by the end of the year.
Similar to the fingerprint under the screen, a camera component is placed under the screen, including the lens and sensor, etc., to realize the solution of the under-screen camera to meet the needs of selfies. However, Samsung, LG and some other suppliers have conducted experimental tests on under-screen cameras before, but they cannot be popularized for the time being due to technical reasons.
At present, @BenGeskin has not disclosed the time when OPPO may launch the under-screen camera mobile phone, but it is speculated that it may be released in the second half of the year.
