Graphene is known as the "king of new materials" and has huge market potential. At present, many provinces in my country are developing the graphene industry, Sichuan is one of them, and a number of graphene companies have been formed in Chengdu, Deyang, Suining and other places.
As early as 2016, Sichuan clearly proposed to build an important national graphene industry base. In March 2016, the Sichuan Graphene Industry Technology Innovation Alliance was established; in December 2016, the Sichuan Graphene Industry Technology Research Institute began to be prepared and moved into Suining Economic Development Zone in March 2017.
Sichuan Graphene Industry Technology Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as the Institute) is a provincial engineering research institute that was officially established in May 2017 after being approved by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Science and Technology. It is a joint-stock cooperative unit jointly established by Da Ying Juneng Technology Development Co., Ltd. and personnel from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Shanghai Jiaotong University, and Southwest Petroleum University. It is reported that the Institute operates and develops in the mode of "construction of a public platform for graphene application industry technology research and development and incubation". Its official website shows that after the completion of the Sichuan Graphene Industry Technology Research Institute project, it is expected that the external funding income for graphite industrialization incubation projects and inspection and testing will exceed 15 million yuan per year, more than 10 patents will be generated each year, and 1 industrialization project will be generated each year, which can drive more than 30 million yuan of upstream development funds and more than 80 million yuan of downstream development funds.
