On January 25, the official Weibo account of Huawei China announced that recently, Shandong Mobile and Huawei have completed the large-scale opening of 500 three-carrier aggregation sites in Qingdao city, marking that Shandong Mobile has become the first operator in the country to achieve the contiguous deployment of 100 three-carrier aggregation sites.
The three-carrier aggregation sites opened this time cover hot spots such as May Fourth Square, Badaguan, Qingdao North Railway Station, and Ocean University of China.
Through three-carrier aggregation of 2.6G 160M + 4.9G 100M frequency bands, deployment in urban hotspots can be achieved, and the highest experience rate in the 5G-A premium area exceeds 4Gbps.
The 100-station three-carrier aggregation deployment was carried out in Qingdao city. After the tourist attractions, it completed the coverage deployment in hot scenes such as universities, hospitals, pedestrian streets, and transportation hubs, realizing the full-scale verification of 5G-A three-carrier aggregation in multiple scenarios.
It is reported that Shandong will be the first to complete the implementation of the first batch of 5G-A three-carrier aggregation sites in the province in Qingdao and Weihai by the end of 2023.
The pilot projects in both locations achieved a breakthrough in 5G-A downlink peak rate of over 4Gbps, indicating that Shandong Mobile has full 5G-A technical capabilities.
Huawei revealed that 5G-A three-carrier aggregation terminals are planned to be commercially available on a large scale this year, which will accelerate the rapid development of industries such as VR, AI, and naked-eye 3D.
It is understood that 5G-A stands for 5G-Advanced, also known as 5.5G, which is the technological evolution of 5G.
Compared with traditional 5G networks, 5G-A networks have capabilities such as greater bandwidth, wider connections, and deterministic latency.
As one of the important technologies of 5G-A, three-carrier aggregation (3CC) is the basic experience network of 5G-A. 5G-A three-carrier aggregation can further improve network quality and experience through three-carrier networking solutions combined with technologies such as deterministic experience guarantee.
