Comprehensive product portfolio enables manufacturers to “future-proof” hybrid fiber-coaxial (HFC) networks
BEIJING, China – September 22, 2022 – Qorvo®, Inc., a leading provider of innovative RF solutions that connect the world, announces the launch of a comprehensive 1.8 GHz DOCSIS® 4.0 product portfolio. DOCSIS 4.0 supports downstream speeds of up to 10 Gigabits per second (Gbps) and increases upstream speeds to 6 Gbps.
Today’s entertainment systems and home and business networks require better two-way interaction, which is driving the need for increased downstream bandwidth and upstream speeds. Building on Qorvo’s complete DOCSIS 3.1 equipment portfolio, the DOCSIS 4.0 portfolio goes a step further, enabling cable operators and MSOs to quickly upgrade their infrastructure to meet the growing demand for Gigabit-class transmission speeds.
Qorvo is the first to offer a complete and ready-to-use 1.8 GHz product portfolio for DOCSIS 4.0. With 30 products, including high-output power doublers, drivers, preamplifiers, return amplifiers, VCAs, DSAs, switches and voltage variable equalizers, Qorvo provides customers with a one-stop trusted platform for DOCSIS 4.0 capabilities.
“Qorvo is here to support customers at every stage of their DOCSIS 4.0 projects,” said Diwakar Vishakhadatta, general manager of Qorvo’s high-performance analog infrastructure products. “Designers can begin development immediately and optimize their networks using high-performance products from a single, trusted platform.”
The flagship device in Qorvo's DOCSIS 4.0 portfolio is the new QPA3315 output amplifier, an ultra-high output hybrid power doubler. This GaN-based power amplifier (PA) delivers exceptional RF output power. By offering a full range of 1.8 GHz products with power doublers, Qorvo helps cable equipment manufacturers accelerate their customers' migration to DOCSIS 4.0 while leveraging the value of their existing network infrastructure.
Qorvo produces and delivers large volumes of cable TV power amplifiers (1 million units per quarter) from its R&D, manufacturing and test center in Nuremberg, Germany, bringing extensive expertise and economies of scale to customers.
Qorvo is a supplier to the wired broadband market, providing superior end-to-end solutions.
