On December 9, 2021, WPG Holdings, a leading semiconductor component distributor dedicated to the Asia-Pacific market, announced that its subsidiary Quanta Computer has launched a WiFi 6 high-speed network router solution based on Qualcomm's IPQ8074 chip, which can help users break through Internet connection limitations and bring faster data transmission rates.

The development of science and technology has brought many improvements to our lives, which are not only reflected in life, but also in network connections. Since the release of the WiFi 6 specification, WiFi 6 routers have quickly swept the market with their two huge advantages of speed and stability. In terms of speed, the maximum bandwidth of WiFi 6 routers can reach 9.6Gbps, which is nearly 40% higher than WiFi 5. In terms of stability, WiFi 6 routers allow massive devices to connect to the Internet at the same time without network congestion and capacity issues.
WPG's WiFi 6 high-speed network router solution based on the Qualcomm IPQ8074 chip can improve the increasingly crowded and dense WiFi environment. Through the optimal configuration, it can bring unprecedented capacity and coverage to the WiFi network.

The IPQ8074 used in this solution is a highly integrated SoC designed to provide maximum capacity, widest coverage and optimal performance for next-generation enterprise access points, operator gateways and consumer routers. The product integrates four ARM Cortex-A53 cores and a dual-core network accelerator, supporting 4X MU-MIMO on 2.4GHz and 8X MU-MIMO on 5GHz, which means it can provide 12-stream channel data transmission at a time, and the transmission quantity can easily exceed 10Gbps to ensure the best Wi-Fi performance for all types of applications.

In addition, because IPQ8074 has 2 PCIe, 2 USB and 6 GSBI, it can provide a variety of applications, such as external 5G modules, Bluetooth and ZigBee. Not only that, IPQ8074 can also provide a higher-speed USXGMII interface with a maximum rate of up to 10G. With the ultra-high performance of IPQ8074, this solution can easily break through the bandwidth limitation of the WAN port and provide users with better WiFi 6 performance.
