Plastic is a very important material, which is widely used in industrial and civil fields. In the field of connectors, plastic is a material that is widely used. It is used to produce housings, insulators, waterproof rings, etc. It is undeniable that the easy processing and molding of plastic has indeed brought great convenience to the development of connectors, but plastic also has some weaknesses, such as being susceptible to ultraviolet rays. So what kind of impact will ultraviolet rays have on plastic? Does CNLINKO's plastic industrial connector have anti-ultraviolet function? The following article will explain it to you.
Why do connectors need to be UV resistant?
Ultraviolet rays are a very common type of invisible light in nature. They pose a severe challenge to plastic connectors used outdoors. If the material is not UV-resistant, "aging phenomena" such as fading, cracking, embrittlement, and reduced strength may occur. Therefore, connectors exposed outdoors must basically undergo UV resistance testing. UV resistance testing is the UV resistance aging test.
UV aging test is mainly for plastic materials. Common aging includes light aging, damp heat aging, and hot wind aging. The f1 certification is a professional certification of the US UL agency for outdoor products to resist UV and rain aging. The UV exposure test is to expose the product to a double-lamp closed carbon arc for 720 hours or to a xenon arc for 1000 hours. If the flammability level remains unchanged, it is qualified.
Which application scenarios require UV resistance testing? The main ones are as follows:
1. Computers: computers, display screens, host computers, etc.;
2. Medical equipment and other precision instruments;
3. Electronic communications: mobile phones, electronic communications components, etc.;
4. Electrical appliances: household appliances, lamps, transformers and other household electrical appliances;
5. Other products: power equipment, transportation equipment, etc.
If the above industries need to use connectors, it is recommended to use connectors with UV resistance.
Worth knowing: Two UV-resistant industrial connectors, CNLINKO Electric's LP and BD series plastic industrial connectors, both use a high-quality, high-performance outdoor engineering plastic material for the main shell. The two industrial connectors based on this plastic material have passed the f1 certification and have the relevant UL yellow card. The f1 mark on the yellow card indicates that this product can be used outdoors for a long time. Currently, CNLINKO's connectors have been widely used in fields that require UV resistance, such as medical equipment, communication equipment, electronic equipment, new energy, and other fields.
Of course, in addition to excellent UV resistance, the two have many other advantages: a more comprehensive range of connector types, quick one-handed operation, excellent environmental adaptability, and both metal and plastic models, which can basically be interchanged.
The most significant difference between the two products is in their appearance design. The BD series has a streamlined body and a hollow curved back, which makes the appearance more visually impactful and artistic; while the LP series has a relatively simple and elegant appearance, which is restrained and not ostentatious.
Thanks to their comprehensive advantages in functions, quality and appearance design, the LP series and BD series industrial connectors have become the leaders among similar products in the market and are deeply favored by users.
