A machine, controlled by PLC, the moving part is controlled by 2 foot switches (the internal switch controls the direction, and the potentiometer controls the speed). This morning, the operator reported that it occasionally did not move, and it needed to be stepped on more times before it moved. Tighten the wiring, and it was more frequent at noon.
So I observed the PLC input point and measured the potentiometer feedback signal with a multimeter. Finally, it stopped moving again. I told the operator not to lift his foot and keep it on. The potentiometer feedback of 10V was normal, but there was no walking contact signal.
The problem was found, and it was basically determined to be a problem with the foot switch (there were no spare parts, and I was speechless. We were so poor). The leader asked us to repair it.
This is an imported foot switch with a circuit board inside. It is in production and in use and cannot be disassembled.
I can only wait and see what the reason is. I am so hungry. It is already 5pm and everyone else has gone to eat. I am a worker and I can only work obediently.
After much hard work, I finally found out that the mechanical contact (plastic) was worn short due to long-term internal friction. Since the switch position is adjustable, I adjusted it a little bit and it worked normally. I continued to observe for 1 hour and no abnormality occurred.
