The S32K1xx series is an automotive industrial-grade MCU based on ARM®Cortex®-M0+/M4F, providing a scalable platform with next-generation security, scalability, connectivity and low power consumption. It is suitable for a wide range of power electronics applications that may work in harsh environments, and is also suitable for low-cost applications that need to make full use of pins.
This solution is aimed at general automotive applications, provides a rich test component, on-board CAN, LIN and UART/SCI interfaces, and has two power supply options: microUSB and 12V power supply, which can help users quickly get started with the development of S32K1xx related application designs. In addition, the free development integrated environment S32DS launched by NXP allows users to quickly familiarize themselves with the S32K series MCU and quickly complete product prototype verification, which can greatly shorten the product development cycle and meet the rapidly developing market demand for automotive electronics products.

The evaluation board size is 55 * 98 (mm), which is light and convenient to use.
You can choose to mount two S32K1xx MCUs in 48-LQFP or 100-LQFP (the example on this board is S32K144/S32K116).
With two power supply options: Micro-USB or DC-12V power supply, flexible optional 5V or 3.3V main control MCU power supply.
Select automotive-grade power chips with high efficiency, high voltage resistance and an ambient temperature range of -40°C to 125°C.
S32K116 (1-channel)/S32K144 (2-channel) CAN PHY peripheral module, supporting CAN-FD.
1 LIN PHY peripheral module.
Components: 1*RGB LED, 2*User Buttons, 1*Potentiometer
Supports JTAG standard debug interface and JTAG 4-wire SWD debug mode.
Ambient temperature range: -40℃ to 105℃ in HSRUN mode and -40℃ to 125℃ in RUN mode.
The peripherals and interface resources cover most of the functions of the S32K1xx chip. Using this evaluation board can meet the basic application design needs of developers and accelerate the early R&D progress to a certain extent.

1. The main control MCU (S32K144) has been briefly introduced above and will not be repeated here.
2. Automotive-grade high-speed CAN transceiver (TJA1044GT/3)

The CAN bus has ideal passive performance when the power is disconnected.

In CAN FD fast phase, data rate up to 5Mbit/s
The VIO input on the TJA1044X/3 variants allows direct connection to a microcontroller with a supply voltage of 3~5V
3. Automotive-grade high-speed LIN transceiver (TJA1021T/20)

Compliant with LIN 2.1/SAE J2602 standards
Baud rate up to 20 kBd
Very low electromagnetic radiation (EME) and high electromagnetic interference immunity (EMI)
Very low power consumption in sleep mode, and in fault mode, power consumption is minimized
Can be operated passively without power supply
Integrated termination resistor for LIN slave applications
Wake-up source identification (local or remote)
K-line compatible
The input level is compatible with 3V and 5V devices and can be directly connected to the MCU microcontroller
